My review of Battlefield: Vietnam has been posted over at FileFront , go take a look at it or die. As per the usual, here's the snippet: A couple of years ago I stumbled onto a game called Battlefield 1942 at a LAN party. At first, I just wandered around the huge maps in awe of the amazing landscape, and how big the maps were. Then, as I got more people in the LAN to join me in a few rounds, the fun really picked up. We played BF1942 for about 8 straight hours, and had an absolute blast. T...

FileFront.com finally got around to posting my Painkiller review . More reviews are sure to follow, as I have at least 2 or 3 more submitted. Anyyyyhoo, here's a snippet from the review : If you’re looking for a deep shooter, with lots of strategic depth (like Deus Ex) or realism (like the Rainbow Six series), then you’ll definitely want to steer clear of Painkiller; this game is all about pulse-pounding action, and Painkiller has it in spades. From the moment you start this game up, until ...

Sometimes, I swear that giving the general public access to the internet was the worst fucking thing that ever happened to the world. Firstly, people need to have reasons to use instant-messengers; if teenie-boppers want to spend their days chatting it up with their friends, talking shit behind people's backs, and gossiping, then do so the old-fashioned way: the phone. That way, when you talk to your buddy/girlfriend/what-the-fuck-ever, you won't have to embarrass the entire human race by you...

History is dictated by those who felt the need to record it. For all we know, some crack whore could’ve documented the entire history before we had radio/video. The Revolutionary War could’ve been fought entirely between penguins and kittens, and not a single person that isn’t currently in the possession of a full-functional time machine could tell the world otherwise. This, my readers, is why I blog. I don’t give a flying fuck if people actually read this (though I do enjoy comments, people ...

Warning: There are spoilers in this summary, though not too many. I was a big fan of Smallville Season 1 and 2, however, the show is seems to be wearing very thin. Season 3 had some absolutely AMAZING episodes... However, most of these amazing episodes all centered around the struggle between Lex and Lionel (his father). A couple episodes featured Clark kicking ass, and he developed more as a character, but for the most part, he's still a pretty two-dimensional character who has quite a bi...

Well, now that I’ve properly identified the conundrum that my mind has been facing for the last few weeks, I think it’s time for a bit of objective analysis on the situation. For those who aren’t familiar with the situation though, I’ll give a brief rundown on the happenings of the past three weeks. Being that today is Sunday, you need to go back two days to Friday, and then go back three weeks to a Friday that took place three weeks ago. You can then go read my entry from that Friday to ge...

So, I've been working like fucking crazy on writing a bunch of previews for some of the cooler titles at E3, and ended up writing all of the following previews; my favorite titles are the bolded games. Enjoy! Guild Wars Beyond Divinity Bet On Soldiers Doom 3 (Xbox) Call of Duty: United Offensive World of Warcraft Dungeon Lords Cold War S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadows of Chernobyl Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 The Saga of Ryzom City of Heroes/Villains Dungeons an...

So, you may wonder, given the overall positive mood of the last entry (the non-game ones), why I had to insert the first couple paragraphs and the quite-obvious scorned feelings that they presented. Well, you see, the night of drinking and good wacky drunk puking fun (for the two womenfolk) was the night of goodness and happiness. That was the night where I met the ever-so-fun-to-talk-to Sam [her real name is mentioned once, and only once, in this period of doubt]. Now: the rest of the stor...

Another one of my previews has been posted over at FileFront , this time it's on the Xbox version of Doom 3 . Here's a snippet: Another thing that’s quickly apparent in the Xbox version is that this game looks amazing for an Xbox game. It features a lot of the same graphical features of the PC, though, as you’d expect, it’s not nearly as pretty as the PC version. The levels aren’t quite as big, and the model and texture qualities aren’t quite as good; but still, for an Xbox game, it lo...

Another one of my previews has been posted over at FileFront , this time it covers the expansion pack to Call of Duty called Call of Duty: United Offensive . Here's a snippet: A year later, and it seems that Grey Matter Studios (developers of Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the rather violent Kingpin) wants to bring players back to the battlegrounds of Europe in an expansion pack for Call of Duty entitled Call of Duty: United Offensive. In UO, you’ll once again be a soldier in the 101...

Being that it's E3, I'm writing all sorts of articles on games over the course of this week for FileFront . This preview is on a game that, seemingly, came out of nowhere and looks mildly impressive. The game is Bet On Soldier , here's a snippet from the rather short preview: [...] you can choose from eight different types of soldier classes, and choose your weapons from an armory of over 40 different weapons. Games will consist of up to 32 players, consisting of more than 40 different...

I forget the actual quote, but it’s something along the lines of: “ it’s better to have loved and lost, to never have loved at all .” And, while I’m sure that’s true, the quote, in no way shape or form, even describes the amount of pain you’ll experience getting up the point of that infamous “ love ” thing. And that’s not even taking into account the effect teenage hormones and music tend to have on the matter of “ love .” And we sure as fuck won’t try to factor in movies, magazines, or any o...

If you're one of the two people that read this blog (one of which being me ), then you've most likely been wondering why there hasn't been an update in about two weeks. Well, let me spread some light on the situation that has been my life for the last two weeks. To begin, let me say that on May 1st, I needed to be completely moved out of the college dorms; however, I was not allowed to move into my new two-room apartment (which is located about a mile away from the campus) until May 3rd. Nei...

One of my new editorials has been posted over at FileFront today; this one contains my predictions for E3 2004 which include a list of what to look for in regards to "hot" games, and my prediction as to what is going to be announced and what is not. This year’s E3 is going to be, without a doubt, the biggest E3 in history. The gaming industry is becoming more and more Hollywood-esque with every passing day; not to mention the fact that this is E3’s 10th anniversary, which means there...

One of my new editorials has been posted over at FileFront today; this one is brief overview of E3 , including the history of the event. Here's a snippet: The Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known simply as E3, is the single biggest event in the gaming industry. Companies come from all over the globe to showcase what their next games are going to be, and provide sneak-peeks and show-room floor demos to their latest and greatest games planned for the upcoming year. Oh, and...
