Trent Polack's site for cats, games, game development, and undeniably powerful sociological insight all with a healthy dose of narcissism.

Having just read Dan Kaschel's article of the same name , I figured it's about time I do the same thing he did, and share my first drinking experience (though, unlike Dan, my experience was about 3 months ago, as compared to his being a few days ago). It was a very pleasant Saturday night here at the University of Michigan, and I had been having a typical day in the life of Trent Polack (i.e., I spent most of the day hanging out with my friends and roommate, just playing games all day). How...

Over the last 2 weeks, I've noticed an increasingly noticable lack of sleep in my life. A month ago, I was able to go to bed at midnight and wake up at 7am or 8am (depending what day it is) without a single hitch. Now, I'm lucky if I can get to bed by 4am, and even more lucky if I can get more than 3-4 hours of sleep at night, and then later in the day, I'll probably take a nap for an hour or two. For some reason, I just don't think this is too healthy, but the little green bunnies that follow...

After a few days of Nick 's endless campaigning, I finally signed up for Twitter ; it was an odd concept for me and one I was greatly resistant to doing. After all, I never use the Facebook status messages or anything, so why would I want a system which is exactly that ? He said "just try it, you'll like it; it's hard to explain." He even linked me to other blog entries about it and I still thought it was insane. Finally, I gave in. I said I'd try it. And now, a week later, I have about a hun...

So, after a mere 7 months of blogging at JoeUser, I'm closing down this blog, and will simply continue blogging at my www.polycat.net , which received a software upgrade and major facelift this weekend.I just don't find much of a point in keeping up multiple blogs, and I do so love my primary site (where I've been blogging for 3-4 years). So... adios.

I forget the actual quote, but it’s something along the lines of: “ it’s better to have loved and lost, to never have loved at all .” And, while I’m sure that’s true, the quote, in no way shape or form, even describes the amount of pain you’ll experience getting up the point of that infamous “ love ” thing. And that’s not even taking into account the effect teenage hormones and music tend to have on the matter of “ love .” And we sure as fuck won’t try to factor in movies, magazines, or any o...

If you're one of the two people that read this blog (one of which being me ), then you've most likely been wondering why there hasn't been an update in about two weeks. Well, let me spread some light on the situation that has been my life for the last two weeks. To begin, let me say that on May 1st, I needed to be completely moved out of the college dorms; however, I was not allowed to move into my new two-room apartment (which is located about a mile away from the campus) until May 3rd. Nei...

Is anyone else having problems with the little box that usually displays user points/site information? Occasionally, when I load Joeuser, the little box attempts to load another instance of Joeuser, instead of my user stats. I can't figure out why it might be doing this, as it happens pretty sporadically.
