At the moment, all I can really say is that I'm really quite glad that the list is finally done. I've gotten some really awesome feedback and comments from a number of people, and for the record, if you'd like to reproduce the list on whatever site you may currently be running, knock yourself out. As I've said to others, the only thing that may anger me is if you replaced my name on the articles with " Derek Smart " who is, pretty much, the black sheep son of Mephistopheles. Word on the street...

My Top Ten Games of 2005 list started on a whim on a bleak afternoon on January 3, 2006. I thought, hey, I like to write and I sure have played a ton of games so I might as well contribute to the gaming society by writing a top ten list. Yeah, that would be fun. I also like ranting about nothing, so I'll just make every article a few pages long, with most of the text not even directly relating to the game at hand. So, I did. And it took me over thirty-two days before I was finally even able to w...

And, now, we've finally arrived at this. The last article in this infamous top ten list -- sure, people had their doubts about it. Sure, people said it would never end. Sure, people hate it more than they do than the revelation that they woke up after a rough night in a bed shared with the creature from the dark lagoon, but that's all behind us now. Except the lagoon thing -- that still haunts my nights. Resident Evil 4 -- Published and Developed By: Capcom Let's have a big round of ap...

Alright, alright, yeah, yeah, my list is the new and fair more unknown Duke Nukem Forever. There, I made the obvious joke. Burn in hell. Civilization 4 -- Publisher: 2K Games, Developer: Firaxis Anyone who's anyone knew that Civilization 4 was going to end up on this list. The only question was whether or not it would take the number one spot -- and, just for the record, it didn't. It was a close call between this and numero uno, but let me tell you, them monkeys I had tied up in my cl...

Okay, at this point in time I've resolved to finish up that damn Top Ten list on Thursday and Friday night later this week. I simply don't have the time to do it any of the other nights this week, and currently I just don't have the desire to do it. Though, you do have my promise, barring any sort of illness which prevents me from standing, or simply a better way to spend my time, that list will have its penultimate posted Thursday night/Friday morning and the finale will be posted on Friday nig...

I do apologize for my continued procrastination on that silly top-ten list. Honestly, I'll get around to finishing it eventually but as for now I'm on this relaxation kick where I want to get back from class, go running for a while, maybe lift a few ridiculously miniscule weights, come back, do some necessary homework, and then... Relax . You'd think the idea that there are only two more game articles for me to flesh out would make the idea of finishing it a lot more appealing, but these are ...

I'm going to try and finish up that damn list soon-ish, but given my current schooling situation , I'm finding it a bit hard to write a semi "professional" (haha) article. Though things should cool down a bit later this week, so hopefully Thursday and Friday/Saturday will lead me in the direction of articles #2 and #1. Until then, though, it's just emo blog-boy back on the scene . School has been kind of a painful mistress lately. And not just any painful mistress, no sir, we're talking lik...

Yes, yes, I'm only six days late on this. And it'll probably be significantly shorter than the previous ones, but, hey. Gift horse, baby. Guild Wars -- Publisher: NCSoft, Developer: ArenaNet Back in the days of yore, when MMORPG gamers were regarded with a kind of label best defined as "Oh my God, I can't believe you're paying extra -per-month to play a silly number game -- nerd," there were a select few MMORPGs that were actually worth paying for. And, to this particular guy, there st...

I don't generally post this kind of stuff here, but since I've been hearing talk of the likes that my top ten list will never be finished, I thought I'd mirror this particular blog entry here. I have a habit of writing completely nonsensical entries where I simply ramble, ramble, and ramble some more until I feel content that I've written enough to satisfy my readers. Consider yourself informed, and enjoy the rambling. This blog title (and the corresponding subtitle) are both from the ever-...

I saw an opossum today. I was just walking down the sidewalk and the little bugger just jumped out right in front of me -- I kid you not. At first I was just about to step on it, but that was the course of action when I thought it was a big trash bag that blew into the middle of the sidewalk. When I realized that the trash had eyes, which were oddly enough attached to a rodentish head, I realized that this wasn't just any trash bags. It was a trash bag that was starting me down. I halted all...

I should've realized that when I started this list that it would mean about an hour or two of my time every day for roughly twenty straight days. The likelihood of a second top-ten list following this one is decreasing exponentially every day. We're now down in numbers so teeny-tiny that they require the use of scientific notation of a magnitude that even a millipede would be frightened of in order to properly be represented. Now, on to the rank seven game of this spectacular array of them vid...

So, I'll come clean with you -- I didn't actually have anything planned for this list when I started it. I figured, hey, I'll come up with the list as I go! Nothing could possibly go wrong with that! Yeah, turned out I was completely out of ideas for games to take the eighth, seventh, and sixth spots in this ever-so-valued list. And for your information I took an extra five minutes today to contemplate just what order my favoritist games of the year would take in this list (which actually took...

Despite the slight delay in getting today's entry in the ever-popular top ten list, I'm happy to say that I'll have this up and you in a position to be reading it before midnight, so therefore, I win. So, in the name of brief introductions so I can have this little puppy up in time, the following is what I feel to be the ninth best game to be released in 2005. Battlefield 2 -- Publisher: Electronic Arts, Developer: DICE While I have no official stats to back this up I'd go as far to sa...
