Well, unlike my last entry, this is not a post fueled by seething emo. I've had a very awesome (if not incredibly exhausting) week filled with spots of concentrated greatness throughout, and for this I am a happykitty.

First, let me just start out detailing the almost unending praises that I have for Veronica Mars. Over the course of the last week I have watched the first two seasons of the show in their entirety and I have rarely been so surprised with just how great a seemingly-simple show can be. The first few episodes of the thing were, as I said, relatively unremarkable. Though once I hit the fifth episode of the first season, I went on a nearly unstoppable episode-watching spree that didn't reach its conclusion until I finished the season two finale on Thursday night. It's such a well-acted, very superbly-written, and simply awesome show that I'd have difficulties not recommending that the known world all devote the following week to a viewing spree of both seasons. Of special note are the following: Veronica is simply adorable, smart, and sassy. Logan is one of my favorite general television characters. Keith, Veronica's father, is tied with Sandy Cohen (of The O.C.) in terms of being a spectacular TV father. And the relationship between Keith and Veronica is up there with the friendship that Ryan and Seth have (also of The O.C.) in terms of general television relationships. I took Firefly out of the running for these comparisons simply because it's unfair to compare Firefly to any other television show in fairness. And, yes, I really do incredibly immersed in the television shows that I watch. It's a hobby.

Some people juggle geese.

Of course, once I finished up with Veronica Mars, I found myself once again with quite an excess of spare time. Over the course of the last six days, I've played about six hours of soccer and four-five hours of basketball with Great Vengeance. And, today, I feel the pain of my body enacting its revenge from such fantastic endeavors. Along these same lines, I must also mention that I don't really get the whole World Cup thing. I originally thought that this was something that was perfectly acceptable for an American youngin', but now I find that all my friends are going batshit crazy over the whole ordeal. Personally, while I don't mind playing soccer (though I consider myself absolutely horrible at it; football and basketball are my sports of choice), I find watching it on TV to be only mildly more entertaining than curling or NASCAR. Then... Yep, not sure where I was really planning to go with this.

And now, let's look at some animals. This moment of cuteness overload is presented to you, appropriately enough, by Cute Overload.

Since I've found myself with a bit more free time as of late -- what with the fairly extensive unloading of a significant aspect of my social life -- I've gotten back into playing a pair of games which are truly deserving of playtime: Rise of Legends and Battlefield 2. I finally finished up the last mission of the first of three campaigns for Rise of Legends, a feat which I had accomplished during the beta, so there's that... And in a moment of true weakness, I reinstalled Battlefield 2 due to an extreme deluge in enjoyable games currently out on the market (though Titan's Quest and Enemy Territory make me feel all sorts of warm and squishy inside). I also, in an even greater display of my lack of willpower, also bought the Special Forces expansion pack. Although it feels like the two-three minute load times for new maps that I experienced last semester have (with no exaggeration) tripled in my time away from the game I do still find myself truly enjoying BF2. When I can actually get into a server, that is.

On a more personal, closing note, I do believe that the events which took place within the boundaries of May have most definitely reached an endpoint. It was a completely melodramatic deal which, as I've said before, is unparalleled even amongst my fairly diverse dating history. I am, or really more that I'd like to think I am, not a serious person. Not whatsoever. I take things that happen completely in stride, deal with them in a fairly impassive/apathetic manner, and then move on without much more thought to the deal. So next time I end up in any kind of romantic situation, I should really pay more attention to some of the more blatant "clues" I pick-up about a person as well as the... Well, the "effect" (?) that the whole deal has on my daily self. Or something. Hell if I know. I'm pretty much just a cold, unfeeling robot.

So, yeah, there's that.
