Notes From the Mind of an Imaginary Cat

Alright, since my blog topics have been completely varied lately, and since I have a lot to discuss in the weeks to follow, I figured I'd do a "status update" entry... Something I haven't done in months (definately not since my time at JoeUser). So, on a positive side, my time at JoeUser has provided me with two new jobs (or attempts at a job): 1) FileFront has just hired me as a reviewer for their upcoming game-review section (which is a direct result of the reviews I started writing after I joined JoeUser), 2) An interview with Stardock. I've dreamed of getting paid to review games since I was a seven-year-old, getting my first copy of GamePro magazine, so this is a dream-come-true (albeit a very modest one). And, the fact that I love programming, love desktop customization, and love Stardock, the chance to work there is also a completely amazing thing to me. Next, I'll be giving a few lists of upcoming blog articles, then I'll launch into my personal life for a bit.

Now, a quick agenda of games that I'll be writing up reviews for in the near future:
  • Unreal Tournament 2004

  • SpellForce: Order of the Dawn

  • Command and Conquer Generals

  • Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour Expansion Pack

Here's a list of articles I plan on writing in the near future:
  • Why I Will Not Be Buying Battlefield: Vietnam

  • My Views on Religion (As a Whole)

  • Things an Upcoming University/College Freshman Needs to Know

  • The Joys of Desktop Customization

  • My perfect girl

As far as my time at the University of Michigan is going... Well, I won't lie, it's been really rough. The first semester resulted in me having a GPA of 2.019. And I ended up taking 2 more classes this semester than I was last, and it caught up to me in the form of a massive workload. Well, last week, I dropped out of my calc-based Physics class, which was not only one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but also the most work (homework was due four days a week, including Sunday). I love the subject with all my heart, but right now is really not the time for me to be taking a class like that, especially with four other tough classes to take on at beside it. So, that should result in me recovering my abysmal GPA. I also transferred from U of M's Computer Science (School of Engineering) program, to their Computer Science (School of Literature, Science and the Arts), as the program's required classes were much more "suitable" for my tastes, as they involved more "optional" classes that I'm interested in (such as Political Science, which I'm in right now), while still getting the degree I want.

That's it for now. I'm currently trying to get some much-needed work done on my 3D game engine, which is coming along like a snail on a treadmill.
